With the increasing issue of population aging and the growing number of patients with ankle joint dysfunction, ankle rehabilitation robot technology has been widely applied in rehabilitation training. This paper classifies and reviews ankle rehabilitation robots based on their design structure and drive types, evaluates and compares the advantages and disadvantages of different types, and proposes potential solutions. The aim is to provide more ideas and technical support for the application of ankle rehabilitation robots. The core issues and research directions in the field of ankle rehabilitation robots are summarized to offer reference for researchers in related fields. Finally, the future development trends of ankle rehabilitation robots are discussed.
